making this an issue. >> that last thing, blaming the romney-ryan ticket. i'll give the case to the defense to you, but i've got to say joe biden said the intelligence didn't tell them anything. the state department knew in real time that this had nothing to do with spontaneous protests about the video. that's point number one. point number two, biden said last night that he did not know or that there was no request from the state department for extra security in the benghazi consulate. the reality is, we have all learned, they made not one, not two, but five requests for additional security which were all turned down at the white house and the national security council. biden -- i think you and jennifer raise a lot of good points that absolutely should be checked in days to come, but you know, larry, you have to check both sides. i didn't like your introduction. we'll check biden's lies and it's lefshlgity mat to fact check and let's not call people liars. >> look at what the obama administration has done. >> it's three against one so give me fair time. >>

biden has to find a way to put romney on the spot, not ryan on the spot. >> andrew sullivan has a new article on the daily beast website called "did president obama just throw the entire election away?" and he writes in part, "i've never seen a candidate self-destruct for no external reason this late in the campaign before. i'm trying to see a silver lining, but when a president self-imlates on live tv and his opponent shines with lies and smiles and a record number of people watch, it's hard to see how a president and his party recover." professor, forget the debates, how does president obama and the campaign move on to win from here? because we're seeing such a tightening of the polling across the country, certainly in battleground states as well. >> well, the easy job for any incumbent is to say look at the good things i've done and look at the bad things you've promised, but they also have to explain why they haven't done more good things, why the glass is only half full. and obama has a case, if he wants to make it, which is that slowly but surely, step by step, brick by brick, w

last night mitt romney and paul ryan played to a large crowd in lancaster, ohio. there was a lot of enthusiasm, a lot of excitement in the air. and in large part because they believe the republicans believe they've won these first two debates. governor mitt romney had a pretty strong performance out in denver ten days ago. paul ryan had a pretty solid performance two nights ago down in kentucky. but that excitement and energy notwithstanding there's a lot of work left to be done for this ticket here in ohio. the president still shows a lead here in ohio, even though that lead has been chipped into over the last week or two, by about half in some of these polls. putting mitt romney within striking distance of the president. now, he may still, mitt romney may still have a challenge, a hurdle to clear with some undecided voters here. and that's surrounding this auto bailout. the president of course supported that bailout, pushed it through. the president and his campaign says that bailout saved hundreds of thousands of jobs not just in detroit but here in ohio and el
